Hello Everyone,
I am in serious trouble - I have become so addicted to Laura Bassen's plaid stamping that I am dreaming in plaid. I have used almost my whole role of post-it tape! I just can't get enough. So, today I was about to hang up the stamps for the day, when I saw Virginia Lu's gorgeous take on Laura Bassen's technique. I love the white space juxtaposed with her scalloped stripes. I needed no other prompt to pick up my post-it tape, ink blemding tool and distress inks. I wasn't sure how Virginia did her scalloped stripes, so I stuck with creating a plaid. I wanted a more monochromatic look, so stuck with the warm side of the colour wheel. I used All Occasions Sentiments from Uniko Studio - if you haven't checked them out, do - their stamps are absolutely top notch quality. I stuck to Virginia's layout pretty religiously. When it was all done, I realised the plaid is a little out of balance - I need a little more white space in the bottom left - Oh well, I will just have to make another one :) Yup, I am totally addicted. Thanks for stopping by - I look forward to your feedback!
Happy Stamping,
Meg
GORGEOUS! I love plaid too, but I hadn't thought of being a plaidict - very cute! Love these vibrant, warm colours!
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning, Meg ... love those warm colours, love the plaid! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous plaid!! I'm jealous...I attempted this but was crazy crooked! LOL Beautiful job!!
ReplyDeleteYou made stunning cards! And thank you very much for your visit on my blog ♥
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
You really do plaid well. I think Laura Bassen would be impressed!
ReplyDeleteOh this is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteMeg, I love your plaid rendition of Virginia's scalloped card! I think, speaking as a lover of plaid, that I can never get enough of your plaid inspiration! You are right about the white space on three sides, but I could have done without the encouragement to buy the sediments, sigh, more schtuff I want now!! Hope you have a great week! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed - this technique intimidates me! Great plaid!
