The Card Concept: Monochromatic Pink

Hello Everyone,
This week I am entering the Card Concept challenge for the first time. For this challenge there is a theme and then inspiration cards by the design team in all different card-making genres. I think my card is a cross between the CAS and Graphic style. When I saw Ardyth's card it made me think of this card that I made a while ago. I love this card and thought that it would be perfect for this challenge. So, I changed it up a bit... I used my copics to colour the vellum strips in graduated shades of pink. Then I die cut the love sentiment from graduated colours of pink cardstock and layered them. I really wanted all the layers to show, so I didn't stack them one right one top of the other, but shifted each layer slightly to right, topping them all off with a plain white. I love the effect. The love die and "you" stamp are both Paper Smooches.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a craftilicious Friday.

Happy Stamping,

  1. Ohhh, the vellum strips are gorgeous! They look a bit like sheer ribbons wrapped around your card. Love the clever use of the Love die, Meg. Thanks so much for joining us at The Card Concept this week!

  3. Ooh I love the colored vellum, and the layered "love". Very cool! Thanks for joining us at The Card Concept this week :)

  4. This is a stunner, Meg! The colored vellum looks so gorgeous and floaty - I thought it was sheer ribbon at first! And I love the layered sentiment!

  5. I love those get extra bonus points for doing them in vellum too! I am loving vellum lately! This is really pretty with the monochromatic pink colors and the cute die cut sentiment.

  6. This card is absolutely gorgeous! I didn't realize it was vellum until I read your post. Now I want to try this technique for myself! Wow!
