Musing about Purple and Going Over the Edge!

Hello Everyone,
Today my card is combining three challenges: Muse, CASology, and CAS-ual Fridays. Most of the time I create with just one challenge in mind, but when this card percolated into my brain I knew it was destined for all three. It was this week's Muse card that piqued my interest first - I love the layout that Marion Vagg used. I had an idea bubbling away. Then on Tuesday, I checked the CASology blog and saw that the card was Purple . . .  Well, I LOVE purple and realised that I haven't used it in awhile. I knew that purple would be just the right pop of colour for my card. Last night, as I was browsing blogland, I stopped in at CAS-ual Friday and saw that the challenge was over the edge; my little hamster started running hard and fast on his treadmill and lo  and behold, the card that had been percolating all week, finally came together!

I cut the polaroid frame from this super-sumptuous 110lb paper that I got at Michaels. Then I die cut 3 of the Hello dies (Simon Says Stamp) and layered them. I mounted the polaroid frame on the cardbase (Woodgrain Craft paper from Simon Says Stamp) with foam squares. I triple layered the greeting so that it would extend across the frame without needing foam dimensionals and without sagging.  I am not sure if you can see it in the photo, but I also covered the Hello in clear Wink of Stella. The flower is a daisy die from Memory Box - I just love this die and haven't used it in ahwile. I cut it twice and covered each die cut with my clear Wink of Stella to get that glittery look I just can't resist. The vellum leaves are a leafy die set from Penny Black. I love the way this card turned out. I added a little bubble of Glossy Accents to the centre of the flower so that the Wink of Stella still shines through. All the layers spill over the edge of the frame. Love it!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Stamping,
Meg
