CASology Cue Card: Purple and Simon Says Stamp Work-it Wednesday

Hello Everyone,
Post number two for today. I am throwing this little card in the ring for the CASology Purple challenge and Simon Says Stamp Work-it Wednesday - use some thing new.

This card features two new things: an NBUS stencil I picked up from Michaels and a new technique, I picked up from Online Card Classes: Stenciled. If you haven't tried one of the Online Card Classes, you really should - they are fantastic. So the technique is sponging with a stencil - I think it was from Day one fo the class. The fabulous Debbie Hughes showed a sponging technique where the sponging creates a graduated value. I used my Distress Ink Dusty Concord and sponged the heart background. I covered these lovely little hearts with clear Wink of Stella and then with Glossy Accents. I love the way the shimmer shows through the glossy topping! I die cut the Love sentiment three times in white and twice in purple. I adhered two white layers, then a purple layer, then one more white and the top purple. I love this layered sentiment look (got it from Jennifer McGuire) and when you turn the card sideways, the hidden purple layer is a fabulous surprise. I just love this added detail (cased from Laurie Willison).

I am thrilled with this simple little card. The sentiment is all Paper Smooches, by the way!.Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Stamping,
Meg
