Muse #65, Simon Says "Anything Goes" and Online Card Class Pre-Class gallery

Hello Everyone,
Sorry for the absence - it is that time of the school year when my brain gets a little stressed and preoccupied with marking etc... While I find stamping a stress release, coming up with card designs does require focus and my mind just hasn't been up to it. Well today I felt the need to leave work behind and play a little in my stamp room.

I saw this card by Laura Bassen and just loved it. I have been wanting to play with watercolouring as I am taking the new Online Card Class which starts on Monday. I love the soft geometry of her card - I recently purchased the Altenew set that Laura used (Sohcahtoa) and thought that was definitely a sign that I should case her card! I felt I needed a bolder sentiment, so I went with the "hello" die from Simon Says Stamp. Well, when I made this card (which I will post next), I had this amazing "hello" die cut - so, I just had to use it. This is where Muse comes in - I missed out on Muse last week, but am definitely playing along this week.

This card came together very easily. I was inspired by our Muse Gillian Ross' use of a layered diecut sentiment as the focal image. So that is what I did. I felt the black panel needed a bit of texture, so I scored it randomly on my score board. I love the way it turned out. The colours on the watercoloured sentiment really pops off the dark background. I had fun with this card. I am also going to enter this in Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge!

Thanks for stopping by - as always I love to hear your feedback!

Happy Stamping,
Meg

  1. This is really funky! Love it! Just spotted the score lines and that really adds a fantastic dimension too. I am a big fan of dark backgrounds too.
