Hello Everyone,
Today was the first of the new Online Card Class: Watercolouring for Card Makers. The focus is on backgrounds. I was particularly intrigued by a technique demonstrated by Laura Bassen. Essentially she inked up an acrylic block with distress ink, spritzed it with water and pressed it onto watercolour paper. I loved that it creates a bold watercolour background. For this card, I followed Laura's technique step by step. Mine got a little messy around the edges so I trimmed it out. I die cut five of the "mom" sentiment five times and layered them. I love the way it pops off the background.
In her demo video, Laura mentioned that she would be intrigued with trying it by creating blocks of colour. I tried that on the next card which I will post next. As always, I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Stamping,
Meg

ReplyDeleteYou did a wonderful job on your vibrant colors, Meg, and it made a stunning card for Mom!! I'll bet your color block card is great, too! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card love it.
ReplyDeleteYours looks great. Mine, not so much. But I will use it somewhere, someday, I'm sure. I think this takes a little practice - she made it look so easy.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your explanations...very helpful. Love your color choices.
